A native-born Texan, Dr. Swiedom grew up in Abilene, Texas, where he received all of his pre-collegiate education. He received his pre-dental education at Baylor University, then proceeded to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas in the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Swiedom served on active duty in the United States Air Force as a captain where he practiced general dentistry on active duty personnel and their families for two years.
Having developed an increased interest in orthodontics from his friend, the base orthodontist, Dr. Swiedom applied for and was accepted by the Orthodontic Department at the University of Texas after discharge from active duty. He graduated at the top of his class with an MS degree in orthodontics, then proceeded to set up his practice in northwest Houston. He practices at his office in Spring, Texas, across the street (Stuebner-Airline) from Klein High School and also at the original office location near Antoine and West Little York.
Dr. Swiedom is active in local, state, and national dental societies and is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He has been recognized by his peers as a Top Orthodontist in Texas for the past two years. (Texas Monthly Magazine)
Married for thirty years, Dr. and Mrs. Swiedom have two sons, a daughter, a dog and a cat. Both are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy golf, archery, fishing, and several conservation organizations.
